Temptation pt.2

Matthew 4:10-11
New International Version (NIV)

10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.”
11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.

Who knew it would be that “easy” to get the devil to flee from us?

People make things so much harder than it needs to be in the moment. It’s always easier to look back and say “oh, that should have been an easy decision, why didn’t I say this or say that?”

When we are faced with temptations all we need to say, “It is written”, and be done with it. We can’t entertain the idea of what could happen if we succumb to the temptation thinking that way will easily set us up for failure.

There is nothing that Satan can tempt us with that is greater than what God has already given us. Satan can’t save your soul, he can’t create life nor can he bless people among many other things. Jesus is the only one you must follow, don’t let Satan and his demons tempt you out off of God’s path for you. Sometimes things seem like they would be better on side rather than along the road you are currently on, but the other side is lacking so much that it is not even worth the thought….the grass isn’t greener on the other side when you have a choice of staying or joining the side of God or crossing over in to darkness.

In verse 11 the devil left him after he resisted the devil, the same will happen for us when we resist the devil and rely on God to provide and protect us when we fall back on Him.
