Temptation pt.1

Have you ever been enticed to do something that you knew was wrong, but seemed so good?

Well, you’re not alone, everyone has or will be enticed to take part in something that they know they shouldn’t even entertain the idea of, but have “something” nudging them towards it. In the moment we think that we are the only ones being faced with this decision.

It doesn’t matter how big or how small the temptation is, it always deserves one response…

Matthew 4:8
New International Version (NIV)

8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”

Jesus Christ was tempted by Satan to bow down to him and receive world for doing so. Can’t say that I have ever been offered that in any shape or form, so why is it hard for us to resist temptations for the smallest things, in comparison to what Jesus was offered?

We have to be better at resisting the devil when faced with him meddling in our lives. We can not let our self proclaimed weaknesses be the thing that keeps us from progressing in our walk with the Lord. There won’t be a day in our lives as of now, that we won’t ever be tempted by something that we know we shouldn’t partake in… whether it’s a type of food that you know you can’t have because of what it results to, alcohol, to lie about something in order to gain something else, to steal an item or anything that might include some aspect of something we like and enjoy.
