Dream On

Have you ever had a dream that felt so real that you wake up feeling like you experienced everything in your dream in real life? Were the colors are so vivid and the sounds were crystal clear?

I can tell you easily that I have experienced MANY of those type dreams.

Of course we all have some of those "random" ridiculous dreams that we "know" are nonsense and most likely linked to something we watched earlier on t.v. or at the movies....

I'm talking about those dreams that make you feel like you have to share what you saw and experienced with somebody because you believe there is a deeper meaning than what you can comprehend.

Too many friends dismiss each other's dreams, not realizing that there could have been a warning, a message, or even an answer to a question that someone may have. You never know if God is trying tell you something through your dream.

Why would God send messages through dreams?

When we are active and going through our day to day lives, we get use to our routine and automatically block out different things and run on autopilot. All of this causes us to miss out on signs and warnings that we need to heed. When we are asleep our minds are still active, but without those day time and night time activities over stimulating our minds. God can now "download" our dreams; since we are visual beings-quick to believe something that we can see and perceive.Being able to see what we need to avoid or what will happen in the future is an amazing gift that God has given us-He uses so many outlets to reach out to us and protect us that we really don't have any reason to be surprised by anything.

Dreams and visions can come at anytime-when you have backslid or haven't been in church or reading your bible as much or ever! Yet He still tries to communicate with us.

There are times when you don't quite understand what it is that you dreamt, share your dream with others, with your pastor, a friend who you know is saved and will listen to you, or best yet, pray about it and ask God to reveal to you what your dream meant.

FYI The reason why I said to tell your dream to a friend/someone that is saved is because they can and should be able to have a broader outlook which can help you from a biblical standpoint.

It is also important to keep a notepad and paper nearby if you can't get on your computer quick enough, to document your dream while it's still fresh in your head.

Be prepared for an increase in dreams and visions, the bible states that His people will have visions and dreams in the last days.....

Ezra 10:10-11

Ezra 10:10-11
New International Version (NIV)

“10 Then Ezra the priest stood up and said to them, “You have been unfaithful; you have married foreign women, adding to Israel’s guilt. 11 Now honor[a] the LORD, the God of your ancestors, and do his will. Separate yourselves from the peoples around you and from your foreign wives.”

A controversial issue is religious beliefs amongst couples.

According the Bible, no one should be linked with those who are not equally yoked with you, meaning that you should not me in a relationship with someone whom does not have the same beliefs as you.

There are many couples out there who marry those who either come from or operate in another faith from their own and expect their relationship to work as it should…until they get married or even have children. Then the debate comes about how to raise their child. This issue should not exist in a relationship.

For example it is not meant for a bible believing Christian to marry a Buddhist…do not think that either you are going to change the person into a believer or think that you can just be Christian and raise your child to be also despite the fact that your partner is Buddhist.

You are doing more harm than good to your spirit and the child.

Children aside…You are opening doors by being in relationship with someone who is under the influence of a false religion or by the person being an Atheist or Agnostic. You end up bring more trials and issues that trouble your spirit and can beat down your faith.

You cannot expect God to bless your family while you have one person doing their Buddhist meditation and the other singing to praise music.

To be continued…

1 Chronicles 10:13-14

Do not underestimate the power of God.

We also cannot think that just because the celebrities consult psychics and mediums and that there are several television shows out there that it is harmless to do the same.

1 Chronicles 10:13-14
New International Version (NIV)

“ 13 Saul died because he was unfaithful to the LORD; he did not keep the word of the LORD and even consulted a medium for guidance, 14 and did not inquire of the LORD. So the LORD put him to death and turned the kingdom over to David son of Jesse.”

To many of our friends or friends of friends have consulted outside means to find out what will happen in their future or communicate with deceased loved ones. Dealing with these false vessels such as mediums, you are showing that you don’t need God and block what He has to offer you.

Sources that are related to consulting mediums are:

Psychics

Ouija Boards

Horoscopes

Star Alignments

Tea Leave Readings

Tarot Cards

Palm Readings

Crystal Readings

And so on…

All of these things can and will lead you down the same path as Saul if you don’t stop, repent and break any curses and close all the open doors you have allowed to be opened.

                                    Stay away from them!!!

Saul consulted a medium rather than going to God to have his questions answered.

God knows our past, present and future, He is the one you go to when you have questions that you want to have answered. Of course it is not as easy as calling a 1-800 number and paying a fee for someone to tell you what you want to hear most of the time and evoking fear in you part of the time. You cannot expect to follow the advice from outside source and still be blessed and progress in your walk with God.

When you get close to God and through His word and prayer, He will naturally show you things to come and you will be in a better place than you were before.

Proverbs 11:2

We are a part of country that ‘prides’ itself for having a lot of ‘pride’ for our country.

I’m shocked that ‘pride’ wasn’t my first word as a child.

Pride is used so often that at one point I forgot what it really meant for a minute. Pride is not a positive attribute to have when you really think about it.

Proverbs 11:2
New International Version (NIV)
2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace,
   but with humility comes wisdom.

pride/prīd/
Noun:
A feeling of pleasure from one's own achievements, the achievements of those with whom one is associated, or from qualities or possession...

Verb:
Be especially proud of a particular quality or skill.

Synonyms:
noun.  arrogance - haughtiness - vanity - conceit
verb.  glory - boast

It’s interesting how the definition of pride seems innocent enough and sounds like there isn’t anything wrong with having pride, but then if you look at the synonyms, other words that are like ‘pride’ include words such as arrogance, haughtiness, vanity and so on….so how is it that a seemingly positive attribute be linked with only negative attributes?...

Of course I say all this to show you that society has found a way to “dumb us down” for a lack of better word, in order for us to believe that things in which are bad are actually good and harmless….However in God’s word He tells us to stay away from pride because it leads to “disgrace” and that being humble will lead to “wisdom”.

hum·ble/ˈhÉ™mbÉ™l/
Adjective:
Having or showing a modest or low estimate of one's own importance.

Verb:
Lower (someone) in dignity or importance: "I knew he had humbled himself to ask for my help".

Synonyms:
adjective.  modest - lowly - meek - submissive - unassuming - low
verb.  humiliate - abase - mortify - lower - degrade - demean

….and yet we make being humble seem very unappealing unless we needed to get someone’s good graces…

Being humble comes with great strength that most people don’t realize. God can’t bless the prideful, there wouldn’t be any room to fill because pride can and will fill your heart to the point where you can’t receive the things of God because you’ve gotten to the point where you’ll believe that you got everything you need or can take care of yourself.

Don’t be foolish…humble yourselves….ask God for forgiveness, for letting pride into your heart and start anew, it’s as simple as that.

Proverbs 7:24-27

Heed the warning….

Part of the reason why Jesus is the way is because he loves all of us so much that He warns us of the traps that Satan will lay out for us to deceive us.

Proverbs 7:24-27
New International Version (NIV)
 “24 Now then, my sons, listen to me;
pay attention to what I say.
25 Do not let your heart turn to her ways
   or stray into her paths.
26 Many are the victims she has brought down;
her slain are a mighty throng.
27 Her house is a highway to the grave,
leading down to the chambers of death.”

God tells us to beware of the ways of the evil one, Satan. Satan will try to misdirect us in order to get us off of God’s path for us in order for him to get us to follow his own path he created for us that only leads to our demise in the end.

You can tell if you are on the right path, there are no grey areas, but it could appear as so when you are in the midst of it. One of the ways to tell if you are on the right path is if the things in your life, that’s positive, start to flourish, you are being blessed without you having to bend over backwards to get it, you have favor with people or businesses when you don’t have the qualifications that proves you should receive those things and so on.

An indication that you are not on the right path is just the opposite, things that should be going right aren’t going right, you stay stuck in the same place and have a difficult time progressing; sometimes Satan can trick you thinking you are doing something right by giving you an opportunity to do something you like, but it ends up being more than you can handle, have issues with everyone around you or your finances get drained and so on.

There have been so many people both celebrities and non celebrities that have been brought down by the enemy and yet people attribute it to it being “their time” and the God was the one who made them die or suffer a horrible accident. Most of the time, it’s the people’s choices which directed their path towards the enemy which unfortunately resulted in their demise or downfall….but only Jesus can pick them back up again.
