False gods

In a world where everyone is encouraged to accept the teachings and ways of various other religions, we forget that we are treading in dangerous territory. There are too many professing Christians taking part in religious activities that belong to other religions.

Artifacts, collectables and decorations also fall in the same category as incorporating false religions in their lives. For example having Buddha statues or paintings are not wise to keep in your home for obvious reasons…as a Christian you aren’t suppose to worship Buddha! So why have anything pertaining to it in your home?

God does not want anyone or anything in His place.

You can say, “It’s just art it’s not like I get on my knees and pray to it.”…well you don’t have to light candles and sit in circle or pray to something in order to worship it. All it takes is dedicating your time and or even money to something that goes against His word.

Deuteronomy 8:19
New International Version (NIV)

“ 19 If you ever forget the LORD your God and follow other gods and worship and bow down to them, I testify against you today that you will surely be destroyed.”

In Deuteronomy we see that following other gods, worshiping and bowing down to them can lead to our own destruction. God cannot work in our lives if we don’t allow Him to because we are preoccupied with things, like collecting items that belong to other religions, practicing meditation techniques that don’t have anything to do with God’s word, doing things like yoga and crystal therapy are also not good.

One of the reasons, among many, as to why not to follow these false gods and all that belong to them, is because they serve as open doors that can lead us down the wrong path and cause issues in your life. God doesn’t have to “destroy” us, because we are very capable of doing it ourselves through our own actions.
