Malachi 3:14-15
New International Version (NIV)
14 “You
have said, ‘It is futile to serve God. What do we gain by carrying
out his requirements and going about like mourners before the Lord Almighty? 15 But
now we call the arrogant blessed. Certainly evildoers prosper, and
even when they put God to the test, they get away with it.”
Almost every day I hear about how they don’t need
God or don’t need anyone’s blessing for things to turn out right. It’s even
more common to hear someone talking negatively about the church and how they
compare the sins that have been committed by the members to those who do good
in the secular world as if to say the one is better than the other. Both the
sinner in the church and the Godless outside of the church are the same- they
both have to repent and get on God’s path for them.
These things cannot be reasons to denounce God,
because you are not to follow man as an example to live your lives. If you want
to get it right, if you want to be sure you are doing what is expected of you,
you have to choose God. He will not intervene in your life if you don’t allow Him
to and you cannot receive salvation through any other means than through Jesus.
