Matthew 7:15
New King James Version (NKJV)
You Will Know Them by Their Fruits
15 “Beware
of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are
ravenous wolves.
As the world continues to grow darker, attacks
against the church will increase. We already have many attacks against us
today, but it will increase as time goes on. This is why we, as believers, must
guard ourselves from falling victim to the tactics of the enemy, Satan.
Unfortunately many attacks on the church come from
members in the church who claim to be Christians but operate through
witchcraft. One of the biggest offenders are those who claim to be prophets and
deliver a word or message to another Christian and have it be wrong. Sometimes
people lured in by false prophets because they tell them good things or bad
things that they must not do, this ends up becoming a psychic-to-client
relationship which is witchcraft and places the recipient under bondage.
The same happens when a whole congregation is given
a word from a false prophet, without knowing that they are dealing with a false
prophet. It can be even more detrimental when a congregation is exposed to a
false prophecy given and accepted.
Like I have spoken about in previous posts, no one
can take another’s “word for it”. Everyone must judge a person by their fruits
first, before they can even think about listening to what some has to say them.
This isn’t to say that every prophet or every word delivered by someone is
wrong, however you cannot jeopardize your spiritual and physical safety based
on a false message.
Anytime you get a word from someone you have to
first look at the type of person who is giving you or the congregation the
message, judging if the person exhibits any of the fruits of the spirit such as
love, joy, peace and so on. Then you just place that message on the back burner
and either pray on it or just wait for confirmation.
Beware of the false prophets and do not treat them
as oracles that will give you insight in to your future.
