Hebrews 5:7-9

Hebrews 5:7-9
New International Version (NIV)
During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him

This scripture was presented during our bible study tonight. This really stuck out to me, I never realized that Jesus had to learn to be obedient rather than just already being obedient without having any internal battles.
Even Jesus Christ had to go through many painful ordeals through his life and he learned from those trials how to be obedient to his father, God. If Jesus Christ had to suffer you have to know that you will have to go through some sufferings in order for us to learn to be obedient as well.

I can confidently say that there is not one person on this earth that can say that they are completely obedient to the Lord without any slip ups or mistakes. Every one of us are continuously learning and molding to whatever we choose to surround ourselves with.

I realized that if Jesus as gone through something we can’t be surprised if something that pains us comes to us-nothing will ever be as bad or painful than being literally crucified as Christ was, which is why we can’t get hung up on issues that come up in our lives. We have to learn from these situations and call on God for guidance rather than doing whatever we feel like will help the situation and end up having to repeat the lesson all over again.
