James 1:13-15
New International Version (NIV)
Trials and Temptations
13 When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For
God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14 but each person is tempted when they are dragged
away by their own evil desire and enticed. 15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth
to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
Along with trials come temptations….the temptation a
lot of the time is the trial that has to be overcome. Temptations like I have mentioned
before in an old entry, is the easiest way for the enemy to catch us and knock
us off our path that we were going down.
Many people on television say that if something was
wrong to do or say why would God put it out there, so then it must be okay to
partake in…. This is where they get off and unfortunately influence viewers to
go down a wrong path-these things that may make us feel good does not mean it
is okay, instead it is a temptation that Satan has placed in the world for many
to fall victim to.
When something is laid in front of you that you know
you are not supposed to take part in and yet it is open to you that’s how you
know it is a trial that is coming your way if you don’t choose carefully and
not part take in it and instead rebuke the interest/thought that is pulling you
toward it.
Everyone will be tempted. Not everyone will be
successful in resisting the temptation.
Just remember that if Christ cannot be tempted and
can resist it so can you!
The easiest way to handle any situation-especially
temptation and trials is to pull out the bible and ask the holy spirit to help
you get what you need to know to get you through.
