Bad v. Wicked

Proverbs 2:21-22
King James Version (KJV)

21 For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.
22 But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.

I think people underestimate the difference between being bad and being wicked.

There is no difference between being bad and being wicked, the only difference is the connotation that each word holds.

Where being “bad” is the cool trend, the idea of being bad has been separated from being considered wicked. The two words are one in the same, yet you can call someone bad and they not be offended, on the other hand if you say they are wicked or evil the tables are turned.

I believe this is a major reason as to why people keep running in to trouble, they think one type of behavior is okay if it falls under an socially acceptable category, only to be proven wrong when it is too late.

Don’t be fooled by these behavior trends that lead you to believe that the boundaries have been extended out further. Society may try to change the boundary between what is acceptable and what isn’t, but God does not change along with the world, nor is He influenced by it. He and His word will remain the same.
