2 Peter 3:9
New King James Version (NKJV)
9 The
Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count
slackness, but is longsuffering toward us,[a] not willing that any should
perish but that all should come to repentance.
I have noticed that as times get darker and some
going through major trials, they forget the power of the promise that the Lord
had given them.
It’s not easy to remember that we have God on our
side when things go wrong. This is one of the biggest reasons why we have to be
in church or at least have righteous friends in church. Somehow we have to have
some connection to the word of God even when you feel disconnected because of
your situation.
What won me over for Christ is that He is not like
any other man or woman that break promises or leave you when you don’t have
anything to give; He stays with you no matter what you have or what your
social, financial or emotional status. This is why we have to look towards Him
when we are feeling lowly or lost.
It may sound cliché but Christ is the key to
happiness and success. He bears with us through our messes and when we miss it
and when we completely block Him out when something goes wrong. The important
thing is to come back to Him, sooner rather than later, and back on track.
